Ohio State football remains the class of the Big Ten. Of the members in the conference, Ohio State leads the way with five College Football Playoff appearances while tied with the Michigan Wolverines for one title victory. The Ohio State Buckeyes, rival Michigan, and Michigan State are the only members of the Big Ten to represent the conference during their CFP berth. Among the tenured members of the Big Ten, the Penn State Nittany Lions are arguably the most competitive of the programs not to make the CFP since its inception in 2014.
On Saturday, the Ohio State football program will visit Penn State in a clash of two top-five teams in the AP Poll. Ohio State will enter riding a seven-game winning streak against their conference foe, but Penn State holds a blemish-free 7-0 record while Ohio State sits at 6-1, with a road loss against top-ranked Oregon earlier this year. Despite the Buckeyes’ rich history of beating the Nittany Lions (23-8 all-time), former head coach Urban Meyer believes it will be their “Super Bowl” when they face the undefeated team this weekend. Nevertheless, Ohio State football fans were not pleased with Meyer’s wording for the epic Big Ten clash.
Ex-Ohio State Football Coach Put on Blast By Fans
According to On3 on Twitter:

On Saturday, the Ohio State football team will battle the Penn State Nittany Lions in a battle of two top-five teams. Ohio State will visit State College, Pennsylvania, where they have won the last three meetings. Since taking over as head coach with the Ohio State Buckeyes, head coach Ryan Day has not lost to Penn State. Meanwhile, his opposition, frontman James Franklin, is 1-9 against the Buckeyes.
Although Ohio State has a track record of beating Penn State, Day’s predecessor, Urban Meyer, believes this game has more significant implications for the Buckeyes. Meyer called the top-five tilt the “Super Bowl” for OSU this season despite already playing Oregon on the road and having College Football Playoff aspirations. Fans of the program did not take kindly to his remarks, putting him on blast on Twitter:
We will use every word but rival
