Ohio State’s head coach, Ryan Day, found a gem of a quarterback in his first season when he landed Justin Fields, who entered the transfer portal after his freshman season at Georgia.
Fields came to Ohio State and led the team to back-to-back College Football Playoffs. and was able to beat Clemson in the Sugar Bowl in the COVID-19 short season in 2020 but would lose to Alabama in the National Championship game.
Ohio State’s Justin Fields Found A New NFL Home
Fields entered the 2021 NFL Draft and was taken in the first round by the Chicago Bears. Fields was supposed to be the franchise’s savior, but after three years of mediocre football, the Bears moved on from him Saturday night, trading him to the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Fields were traded for a 2025-sixth-round pick that could turn into a fourth-rounder based on playing time.
Many people thought it was crazy that Fields, who had some talent coming out of college three years ago, didn’t play badly with the Bears. He was just on a bad team, and it didn’t work; the team has the first pick in the draft and will take USC’s Caleb Williams, a generational prospect.
Ohio State Fans Now Have A Issue
Ohio State fans are facing a big issue now because most of them are either Cleveland Browns or Cincinnati Bengals fans, and the Steelers are one of their biggest rivals.
One Browns fan tweeted out a meme video from Star Wars Episode III, Revenge of the Sith, when Anakin Skywalker joined the dark side, and Obi-Wan Kenobi said you were the chosen one. It was said you would destroy the sixth and not join them, but Ohio State fans changed it to say that about Fields joining their favorite NFL team’s archrival.

Ohio State Fans Love Seeing One Their Own Do Well In The NFL
Many Ohio State fans love seeing former players succeed at the NFL level, but when a quarterback from their favorite school goes to the NFL team they root against, they usually have no more love for that player. It’s easy to root for a linebacker who played at your college and then joined your rival NFL team but not a quarterback because if the quarterback is playing well, then that usually means the team is winning, and no Browns or Bengals fans want that.
