Ohio State Fans were upset with the Big Ten’s decision Friday afternoon on Michigan head coach Jim Harbaugh. Per multiple reports, the Big Ten has banned Harbaugh from the Michigan sideline for the rest of the regular season in relation to the sign-stealing scandal.
Many Buckeyes fans didn’t think that was enough punishment.
Per Pete Thamel and Adam Rittenberg with ESPN, Harbaugh cannot coach on the sideline but can coach during the rest of the week:
“The Big Ten has suspended Michigan coach Jim Harbaugh for the remainder of the regular season as the league disciplines the program under its sportsmanship policy amid the ongoing NCAA investigation into the school’s alleged in-person sign-stealing ring…
The suspension for Harbaugh only bans him from the sideline on gameday, as he’s allowed to coach the team the remainder of the week.”
The ruling came one day before Michigan will face its toughest test so far this season at Penn State. Michigan has been under scrutiny recently due to a sign-stealing scandal that rocked the Big Ten this season.
Harbaugh has denied knowing anything about using advanced scouting to steal signs. Several low-level staffers, including Connor Stalions, have left the program in relation to the scandal.
It was predicted that the Big Ten would suspend Harbaugh on Friday afternoon, but it was unclear how long the suspension would last. Michigan threatened to challenge the suspension in court.

USA TODAY SPORTS
Buckeyes’ fans weren’t pleased with the Big Ten’s suspension immediately following the report of Harbaugh’s suspension. The ruling means Harbaugh cannot coach on the sideline against the Buckeyes at the end of the regular season. But Harbaugh can still coach during the week and in the postseason.
Here are the best takes of Buckeyes fans angry with the Big Ten’s suspension of Harbaugh.
This really makes it pretty clear that everybody should have been cheating the way Michigan did.

Absolute worthless suspension if the 2012 buckeyes that were undefeated, couldn’t play in the national championship game. Michigan shouldn’t be allowed to continue on in play for a national championship this year..

Lol. WTH does this accomplish?
— Athens Steve (@rainy_steve) November 10, 2023
Yeah, just don't suspend him for the Big Ten Championship and the playoffs. Big Ten needs that jackpot money, yo!

It’s still pathetic!!! Cheating is condoned in the BIG TEN

The OC and DC were literally getting play calls from stallions. THEY should be suspended even more so than Harbaugh. Pretty weak first step toward punishment.
