Alford has been with Ohio State since 2015. With TreVeyon Henderson and Quinshon Judkins, Ohio State has one of the country’s most talented running back rooms.
Michigan Has Had The Upper Hand On Ohio State The Last Few Years
Michigan announced last week that running back coach Mike Hart won’t return to the team, leaving a void at the position, and now Alford could be their new guy.
Leaving Ohio State for Michigan or Michigan for Ohio State is a big no-no. You never leave one of those schools to join the rival, and Ohio State has been on the other side of defeat in this rivalry for the last three seasons. They have dropped three straight games to Michigan the past three seasons and saw Michigan win the National Championship two months ago.
If the Buckeyes were to lose Alford to Michigan, it would be another massive blow to a team that hasn’t been able to stop for three years. It’s bad enough that the team keeps beating you, and now they come in and steal one of your best coaches.
Michigan’s New Era
Michigan is transitioning after head coach Jim Harbaugh left for the NFL a few months ago. A new head coach, Sherrone Moore, is filling out his staff.
Alford is not just a great coach but also a great recruiter. He could go into Michigan and steal some great recruits he has been going after for the Buckeyes.
If you didn’t think this rivalry was big enough, it has become much more significant now that Michigan is trying to steal one of the Buckeyes’ best coaches.
