The North Carolina Tar Heels decided to make a change at head coach for the 2025 college football season and beyond. Instead of keeping Mack Brown around, they decided to part ways with him.

This offseason, the Tar Heels hired Bill Belichick as head coach for this football program. He won six Super Bowls with the New England Patriots as head coach and two Super Bowls with the New York Giants as the defensive coordinator. The North Carolina Tar Heels went 6-7 overall and 3-5 in ACC play last season.

On Monday, the Tar Heels schedule for the 2025 college football season was announced. To open the season, they will face the TCU Horned Frogs from the Big 12 Conference on Labor Day, Monday, September 1.

They will begin conference play on October 4 against the Clemson Tigers. Clemson won the ACC title last season and the Tigers will be favored once again to win the league in 2025. Another tough game on the North Carolina Tar Heels schedule for next season will be on Friday, October 31 against the Syracuse Orange. Syracuse improved last year and looks to be a contender for the long haul.

In the final two weeks of the regular season, the Tar Heels will face rivals the Duke Blue Devils and the North Carolina State Wolfpack. This is a favorable schedule for Bill Belichick in his first season with the program.

    8-4 possibly 9 wins

Looks like a playoff schedule to me 😎👀

11-1 ceiling, as low as a 6-6 floor. Should be favored in at least 8 of these games.

Where is Alabama, Georgia, Ohio State, and Penn State just to name a few? I guess it’s only right to try and not embarrass the 10 million dollar a year coach. Good luck. Also, I do hope that I am proven wrong! 🙃

The first year with Bill Belichick at the helm will be one of the biggest storylines during the 2025 college football season. The North Carolina Tar Heels could be a surprise team across the country. North Carolina may not be a playoff team next year, but Belichick is going to try and have it be successful for the long haul.
