Earlier today, it was reported that North Carolina had made a firm decision on the influence that Jordon Hudson, the 24-year-old girlfriend of 73-year-old head coach Bill Belichick, could have on the program. Per that report, the Tar Heels had banned Hudson from the football facilities.
The decision, apparently, came as the result of several embarrassing interaction had with the media that put Belichick and the football program in a negative light. These, of course, include her inexplicable behavior during the coaching legend’s interview with CBS when he was asked how he met Hudson.
Additionally, HBO is said to have cancelled the filming of a college “Hard Knocks” series with the Tar Heels because Hudson insisted on being overly involved in the production.
But while the announcement that Belichick’s girlfriend was being banned for their football facilities was met with a favorable response from fans, the university has since stated that the report is not true.
North Carolina Has Not Banned Jordon Hudson from Their Facilities
Instead of preventing any more negative publicity directed at their program due to Hudson’s controversial behavior, the university has stated that, not only is she not banned, but she will continue to act as the main contact for all of Belichick’s activities outside of the Tar Heels football program.
“While Jordon Hudson is not an employee at the University or Carolina Athletics, she is welcome to the Carolina Football Facilities. Jordon will continue to manage all activities related to Coach Belichick’s personal brand outside of his responsibilities for Carolina Football and the University.,” the statement read.
Earlier this year, it was revealed that Belichick had instructed that any email correspondence he received must also be forwarded to Hudson, who is the apparent head of “Belichick Media.”
There is no indication that Belichick played any role in the university making this statement, though it will explain any and all of Hudson’s future appearances at football related activities.
One must assume that, though the publicity surrounding Belichick, Hudson, and the football program has not been positive, the Tar Heels are happy to be getting any publicity at all.
