The NFL is one huge brand that typically stays within the news but decided to publicly mock one of the top MVP candidates in Brock Purdy. The San Francisco 49ers quarterback was awful against the Baltimore Ravens in Week 16 before leaving with an injury as he was 18-of-32 for 255 yards with a career-high four interceptions.
While Purdy had a disastrous game, the official NFL YouTube channel has chimed in on the action as they have a 31-second video titled “BROCK PURDY THROWING AWAY THE MVP“, which shows him throwing an interception in the middle of the second quarter. The video has over 43,000 views at the time of this writing and is still up on their official YouTube channel.

Things are not looking good for the 11-4 San Francisco 49ers and it looks like either a rogue employee or the social media manager is having fun on Christmas Day.
What are the odds for Brock Purdy to still win the 2023 NFL MVP?
Brock Purdy entered Week 16 as one of the favorites to win the 2023 NFL MVP but now he is not even the best player to do so for his team, according to DraftKings. They have Lamar Jackson (-160) and teammate Christian McCaffrey (+400) ahead of him in the odds.
Purdy is currently third in the MVP race right now as he is sitting at +600, meaning you would win $600 on a $100 wager. It is going to be difficult to erase such a miserable game out of the MVP voters’ minds at this point on a national stage like a Christmas night game against the top seed in the opposing conference.
He still has solid numbers throughout the season as he is 286-of-416 (68.8 completion percentage) for 4,050 yards with 29 passing touchdowns to 11 interceptions. He still sits atop the league with a 71.7 QBR but is fourth in passing yards and second in passing touchdowns.
It was always going to be difficult for Purdy to win the award for the fact that he has such a high level of teammates around him. However, it seems like we will not need to worry as he has dropped off the NFL MVP ballots for a lot of his biggest supporters.
