After finishing the regular season with the best record in the AFC, the Buffalo Bills fell way short of expectations in the playoffs after suffering a heartbreaking 27-10 Divisional Round loss to Joe Burrow and the Cincinnati Bengals.
You can be sure that the taste of bitter disappointment is still lingering in their mouths, which is why Buffalo has been doing everything it can in the offseason to make sure that they have the necessary tools to go on another title run in 2023.

At this point, you could argue that the Bills already have a very solid squad heading into the new season. At the same time, however, they could still choose to add one or two more pieces to further strengthen the squad ahead of what is surely going to be a tough year ahead.
According to Alex Ballentine of Bleacher Report, one area Buffalo’s front office should try to improve is their linebacker depth. At the moment, the Bills are looking in the direction of Tyrel Dodson, Terrel Bernard, and Dorian Williams to fill the gaping hole Tremaine Edmunds left upon his departure this summer. The aforementioned trio has a lot of talent between them but at the same time, youth and inexperience are also two things these three studs have in common.
“Teams have to be able to develop young players like them to fill holes, but it won’t hurt the Bills to add a veteran with an established floor such as Anthony Barr.
The 31-year-old was essentially asked to fill that same role for the Dallas Cowboys last season and was solid. He earned a PFF grade of 59.7 while racking up 58 tackles in 10 games,” Ballentine wrote.
Barr is not the type of player who’s going to be a game-changer for Buffalo, but he does have the potential to make a relatively significant impact on the squad both on and off the field. The invaluable experience he has under his belt is something the team can make use of, and I can see a scenario wherein the 31-year-old takes the squad’s younger LBs under his wing. After all, Barr knows what it takes to be a star in the NFL, so perhaps he can guide the likes of Dodson and Bernard to take a similar path.
