Among all the notable NFL prospects for the 2024 Draft, there is one who stands out in a incredible and motivational way. Ray Davis has had a wild journey to become a NFL prospect for this year.
His life will be changed forever the moment that his name is called in the NFL Draft. Davis played at the University of Kentucky, but his story goes far beyond just the regular student athlete. Davis has had to overcome incredible amounts of adversity to get to this position.
Before coming to the NFL stage, Davis spent time in foster care, was homeless, and had parents who were constantly in and out of prison making them incapable of providing for him. It will be a truly special moment when his name is called on draft night.
Ray Davis Will Make The NFL Against All Odds
Davis had to move around a lot because of his circumstances. He played for multiple high schools throughout his youth, and then ended up playing for three difference colleges: Kentucky, Temple, and Vanderbilt.
This final college of season took place at Kentucky. Remarkably, Davis is incredibly grateful for his opportunity and even with all the adversity he still looks at the blessings in his life. He was quoted saying that he is in the “one percent,” and he has been so lucky to make it to this stage.
He continued by saying that he’s not doing this for himself alone but rather:
“I’m doing it for a lot of other kids who are in that situation.”

You Can’t Help But To Root For Ray Davis
Davis was already in foster care by eight years old before living at a homeless shelter at the age of 14 with twelve other siblings. He luckily was taken in by two teachers of his and ended up boarding at school when he was fifteen years old. Ray’s father would eventually return to his life following all of this turmoil.
The back may not be a top 10 prospect of this years draft, but he is projected to go on the second day of drafting. This previous season he had all season bests of his college career, finishing with: 1,129 rushing yards, 323 receiving yards, and 21 touchdowns. Each of those numbers were the best of the entire conference in the country.
Davis did not have the best combine performance, but there are still many teams that have shown interest in him. He could be a great complimentary back for many teams as he stands at 210 pounds strong and runs fiercely. It will be an incredible moment to see him become an NFL player.
Stick around for the second day of drafting to hear this young man’s name get called. We all wish the best for Ray Davis!
Ray Davis may not have breakaway speed but damn can he destroy an angle. He flips his hips so fast here he almost fell over, still made it look smooth pic.twitter.com/geXCSKauDU
