In a shocking breaking story, former NFL star Vontae Davis was found dead at the age of 35 years old at his grandmothers house in Florida on Monday. There is investigation under way, and no foul play is suspected in the indecent. Many NFL fans have taken to social media to share their shock, sadness, and prayers with the family and loved ones. Throughout the day, many NFL players, coaches, and owners alike, shared their pain for the shocking passing of Vontae Davis.
The NFL Reacts To Shocking Death Of Vontae Davis
Both the Indianapolis Colts and the Buffalo Bills shared a message and sent their prayers to his family.
“We are saddened to learn of the passing of Vontae Davis. We are thinking of his friends, family, and loved ones during this difficult time,” the Bills announced.
While his coaches shared a message, it appears that many former NFL players were shocked and in real pain from this news. Obviously Davis created many life long relationships in his time in the NFL and many players do not even know what to feel with the passing of Davis at such a young age.
“I don’t even know how to feel right now.. May God rest your soul brotha,” Dez Bryant wrote.

Players were in disbelief about the news, with many taking it quite hard. Davis clearly was beloved in his locker rooms and around the league as a whole. Pat McAfee and many other players took to social media sharing:
“Rest In Peace Vontae Davis,” Pat McAfee said.
“Sad Day. We used to battle everyday in practice. Sometimes it ended in a bunch of bickering and almost fights. . We got each other better. It was a pleasure wearing the horseshoe with you homie. Rest easy “Champ.” Praying for your family and love ones. R.I.P. #VD21,” Reggie Wayne added.
“Vontae Davis provided us with spectacular plays & plenty of laughs. None greater than when he retired from the Bills at halftime. Here are his former teammates, Shady McCoy and Tre’Davious White retelling this all time great story, RIP,” Emmanuel Acho wrote.
