Two NFL legends and rivals may be teaming up in 2024, as it has now been reported that former quarterback Peyton Manning is trying to get Bill Belichick to join him at his production studio Omaha Productions.
NFL Report Says Peyton Manning Can Bring In Bill Belichick
According to The Athletic sports media insider Andrew Marchand, Manning is trying to pursue the long time coach for a role in television. Both CBS and NBC have already met with the former New England Patriots leader, Marchand reports. Apparently Belichick would not be the only coach that Peyton would go after:
“If Manning were to sign Belichick, the idea of teaming with ESPN to create a Belichick and Nick Saban “Manningcast” is expected to be broached, according to officials briefed on the plans,” Marchand wrote.
Belichick made a rare TV sighting on ESPN for their college game day show as he was invited to talk about the Army-Navy game and make his pick for the game. Bill performed well which furthered the speculation that he will pursue a career in TV in his year off from coaching.
Bill Belichick’s Son Thinks The Coach Is Going Into TV
A month ago, Belichick’s son Steve made subtle hints that his dad would be going into TV for this upcoming season when Steve made an appearance on Chris Long’s “Green Light” podcast.
“I think he’s good, you know?” Steve said when asked how his father was doing. “Let the stuff roll off your back and move forward. He doesn’t dwell unless we lost the game and need to get on some guys, but eventually you’ve got to turn the page. Honestly I wasn’t too involved in any of that stuff. He did his thing, I did my thing and that was kind of that.
“He’s definitely pursuing some other stuff whether it’s TV or a regular on ‘Green Light’ or whatever it may be.”
Bill would be able to show off his incredible knowledge of the game, and if he was to be paired with Nick Saban, it would be must see TV. If Peyton can get this done it would be incredibly fun for fans. Belichick has been known to be tight lipped and a grumpy guy in the media, but this would be the best opportunity to show a different side of himself.
