Colin Kaepernick wants you to know he’s the leader in one category for the NFL postseason. The former San Francisco 49ers star quarterback took a screenshot of a fan’s post to place on his Instagram story Monday night.
The San Francisco 49ers are back in the Super Bowl
The 49ers are set to play the Kansas City Chiefs in February’s Super Bowl. The quarterback matchup will include Patrick Mahomes for the Chiefs and Brock Purdy for the 49ers. The 49ers will start their third different quarterback in a Super Bowl since the 2013 season.
Jimmy Garoppolo started at quarterback for the 49ers in Super Bowl LIV. Kaepernick was the 49ers starting quarterback for Super Bowl XLVII. And Kaepernick had an impressive stat going into that matchup.
Colin Kaepernick is proud of one stat
Per a screenshot of Kaepernick’s Instagram story, Kaepernick posted a story from ESPN showing the former 49ers’ signal caller having the highest QBR rating entering a Super Bowl. Kaepernick’s 91.2 QBR rating was higher than Matt Ryan’s (90.5), Peyton Manning’s (90.4), and Patrick Mahomes’ (90.2).
One thing to note about the top three names on the list: they all lost their respective Super Bowls in the year they had the high QBR rating. Kaepernick earned a 91.7 QBR rating in the 49ers’ 34-31 loss to the Ravens in the Super Bowl.
Kaepernick wasn’t the same QB after the Super Bowl
Kaepernick was one of the best quarterbacks in the league when Jim Harbaugh was his head coach and led the team to Super Bowl XLVII. But Kaepernick’s QBR went downhill when Harbaugh left for Michigan.
Kaepernick would still like an opportunity to play quarterback again in the league. But one would assume QBR wouldn’t touch the 90s again after his absence from the league since the 2016 season.

Yeah kaperknick but Mahomes does have Superbowl wins and you don’t
Doesn’t deserve.
Are you saying he shouldn’t be proud of that accomplishment? He’s accomplished something that no other QB has! He’s been blackballed way to long, I’d like to see him get a chance. Then this topic could be one less dumb thing to talk about and debate.
