Unlike in past years, betting on NFL games is slowly becoming acceptable, especially amongst athletes from other sports. New York Knicks star Josh Hart, in particular, is a big fan of betting but his Week 1 didn’t go down well at all.
Parlays are a popular betting option in sports wagering that allow bettors to combine multiple individual bets into one. For a parlay to be successful, all selections—known as “legs”—must win. This means that if any single bet loses, the entire parlay is lost. While this structure makes parlays more challenging to win compared to straight bets, the potential payouts are significantly higher, making them appealing for many bettors.
There are various types of parlays, including standard parlays, same-game parlays, and teasers. A standard parlay combines different bets from various games, while same-game parlays allow bettors to link multiple outcomes from a single game. Teasers offer flexibility by allowing bettors to adjust point spreads or totals, though this usually comes with lower odds.
While the excitement of a parlay can enhance the betting experience, it’s important to approach them with caution. Serious bettors often recommend sticking to smaller parlays—typically two or three legs—to increase the chances of winning. Despite their allure, parlays can lead to losses, so it’s wise to manage your bankroll carefully and treat parlays as a fun addition to your betting strategy rather than a primary method of wagering.
New York Knicks’ Josh Hart Admits Not Getting Any Parlay as the 2024 NFL Season Starts
Just recently, Hart went on his official X account to express how he didn’t hit a single parlay during Week 1 of the NFL. At the same time, he expressed excitement that the league is back again after a long offseason.
“I didn’t hit 1 parlay today. Football is back!” Hart tweeted.
Back in 2023, Hart explained his interest in betting on NFL games. He emphasized that his motivation stems from a genuine love for the sport.
Hart’s betting experiences have been a mix of successes and failures, as shared in the past. While he didn’t win anything in Week 1 of the new NFL season, there’s a long period ahead to get that win for the Knicks star.
