The strange story involving NFL legend Terrell Davis has seemed to have gotten some closure finally. The whole situation had started when the former star was kicked off of a plane.

The whole situation started with Davis taking, what was, a regular flight on United Airlines. He described the whole situation at length on a social media post:

“During the beverage service, my son politely requested a cup of ice. The flight attendant either didn’t hear or ignored his request and continued past our row,” Davis wrote. “I calmly reached behind me and lightly tapped his arm to get his attention to again ask for a cup of ice for my son. His response and the events that followed should stun all of us.”

Davis said the flight attendant responded “don’t hit me” before hurrying away.

He continued by saying that at end of the flight, he was wrongfully handcuffed removed from the flight after landing in front of everyone. Davis was with all of his family on the flight and expressed how traumatic this was.

“I was — and remain — humiliated, embarrassed, powerless and angry,” Davis wrote.

NFL fans and former players were quick to social media to back the Denver Broncos legend.

“I hope you get some Justice! These flight attendants need to be held accountable 👊🏻,” said former Bronco Derek Wolfe.

“Guy should be fired and make a public apology as well as United, so happy there were witnesses who saw what happened,” another person added.

“United about to write a big ol’ settlement check,” a third person said.

“Thank you for sharing we will never use united airlines again! This is a small example of what happens regularly yet most don’t have a voice! Justice for you and your family!!” a fourth person chimed in.

“This some BS right here,” added ex-Bronco Chris Harris.

Davis not only said that he was kicked off wrongfully this week, but that he was banned from the airline entirely. Later, United Airlines contacted the Los Angeles Times to explain the situation more.

Per that report, the airline said that the flight attendant who kicked off the former star is now no longer employed with them. They also expressed that the letter that was sent to Davis was just an auto generated message after the incident and that he is not banned.

“Mr. Davis received this letter the day after the incident,” the airline said, via the LA Times. “It was generated due to the report of the flight attendant — who is no longer employed by United. The day after the letter was sent, we discussed with Mr. Davis’ team that it had been rescinded. We have apologized to Mr. Davis for his experience and continue to review our handling of incidents like this to protect our highest priority — the safety of our customers and crew.”

However, the firm that is representing Davis said that the ban was not rescinded even though united claims the opposite. United claims that the ban was not rescinded until only after Davis had already posted his long story on social media.

“Up until today, we had received no correspondence or communication indicating that the travel ban had been rescinded,” the firm said, via ProFootballTalk. “Mr. Davis did not see the initial correspondence until recently, and we have released the email because of the lack of response from United across the board. We can confirm we had received no rescinding of this ban until today, just moments ago, and only after Mr. Davis posted his statement.”

It seems that the situation is coming to a close, and that Davis was able to get some justice for what had occurred. We will have to wait and see if Davis takes legal action against them or leaves it as it is.
