NFL News: The Shocking Job Offer Bill Belichick Received After New England Patriots Exit

NFL news: Despite the stellar resume he has under his belt, Bill Belichick failed to secure a new job this summer after parting ways with the New England Patriots earlier this year. You would think that the six-time Super Bowl champion coach would have no problem finding his next gig in the NFL, but what has been made abundantly clear is that organizations across the league don’t exactly feel the same way about the 72-year-old.

As it turns out, Belichick actually had at least one job offer on the table this summer. It’s just not what you would expect.

Paul Rabil and ESPN analyst Paul Carcaterra recently did a deep dive into the current state of the Premier Lacrosse League. While the popularity of this professional league pales in comparison to that of the NFL, the PLL has gained a respectable following through the years.

During their discussion, it was revealed that legendary lacrosse coach Bill Tierney actually wanted Belichick to join him with the Philadelphia Waterdogs (h/t sports reporter Zack Cox on X, formerly Twitter):

“Bill Tierney, legendary college lacrosse coach who’s now with the Waterdogs in the PLL, offered Bill Belichick a job as his defensive coordinator before this season. Belichick evidently declined,” Cox reported.

That would have been some demotion for one of the most renowned coaches in the history of the sport, which is why it isn’t at all surprising that Belichick turned down the offer. At this point, it appears that the three-time Coach of the Year hasn’t given up on his desire to return as an NFL head coach.

Right now, it is clear that Coach Bill would much rather remain jobless than move on to another sport.
