As the NFL offseason is in full effect, there is not a more trade hungry team than the Los Angeles Chargers. The team appears to be very open for business and has now been reported to be interested in trading many of their top stars this off season. Albert Breer of Sports Illustrated reported that the Chargers are open to trading both their star receivers Mike Williams and Keenan Allen, and they are not the only stars being considered for a trade.
Los Angeles Chargers Are Open To Several Huge Trades
The Chargers are not only looking to trade their top two receivers, but they have also been in reported trade talks about their linebackers Joey Bosa and Khalil Mack. The new regime under Jim Harbaugh is going to look a lot different in 2024.
“The Chargers have had exploratory trade talks on OLBs Joey Bosa and Khalil Mack (as @DMRussini said), and WRs Mike Williams and Keenan Allen. Allen appears to be least likely to be moved, but they’re listening on all of them. It all, of course, relates to their cap situation,” he reported on Sunday morning.
Keenan Allen had one of the best seasons of his career this past year, and while Mike Williams was hurt, he has still proven that he can be an amazing receiver when he is on the field. It would be crazy to trade both of these guys in the same off season, and there is definitely a huge market around the NFL for these guys.
To also be looking to trade two of your top defenders in Mack and Bosa has the Chargers as the most aggressive team in the offseason right now.
NFL Salary Cap Taking Its Toll On Los Angeles Chargers
While many NFL fans think that the salary cap is not a real thing, the Chargers and Buffalo Bills have certainly been acting like the cap is a very real thing. There have been many notable roster cuts already and the Chargers are looking to clean their house of a lot of their most expensive players.
It is clear that the salary cap has been a major impact for teams early in the offseason, and by next season, we will see many players on new teams. Free agency is set tp start this week and their should be a lot of shocking moves to go down.
