Two weeks are already in the books for the 2023 NFL season. There have been surprising teams, both good and bad, early on. Week three begins tomorrow night with the New York Giants taking on the San Francisco 49ers. As we head into week three, here are my games of the week I will be keeping an eye on.

NFL Football Top Game: Los Angeles Chargers (0-2) at Minnesota Vikings (0-2)

I think these are two  NFL teams not many people expected to be 0-2 at this point of the season. Kirk Cousins has been one of the best quarterbacks in the league at this point. He has thrown for six touchdowns and is second in the league in passing. After a 20-17 loss to Tampa Bay in week one, it was a tough ask for them to win in Philadelphia on the road in a short week. After a tough comeback in the fourth quarter, they fell short. The schedule also doesn’t get easier for the defensing NFC North champions as games against the Chiefs and 49ers loom. The Vikings need a win this week.

The Chargers have been in shootouts early on. Their two losses have been by a combined five points. If one thing changes in both those games, we could be looking a team that’s 2-0. When you have Justin Herbert under center, you always have a chance to win. The Chargers need their defense to step up as they have scored enough points to win. They will have a tall task to slow down Kirk Cousins and Justin Jefferson.

NFL Football Top Game: Buffalo Bills (1-1) at Washington Commanders (2-0)

After a bad game against the Jets in week one, Josh Allen was the Josh Allen we expected for the Bills last week. There’s a reason Allen is one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL and he showed why. Despite this being a road game, I don’t think this is a game the Bills can afford to drop.

Washington was not looked at having a good season. It’s sort of a surprise they are at 2-0. However, Same Howell has played well the first two games. he has thrown for three touchdowns and has completed 65.7% of his passes. With how good the Commanders defense is, Howell just has to play average and they will win more games than we might think. This should be a good game Sunday.

NFL Football Top Game: Philadelphia Eagles (2-0) at Tampa Bay Buccaneers (2-0)- Monday Night Football)

I don’t think many people expected the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to be 2-0 on the season. So far this NFL season, they have beaten the Minnesota Vikings on the road and the Chicago Bears at home. Baker Mayfield has been pretty good through two games.  He has yet to throw an interception and is completing 69% of his passes. The Bucs are also +5 in the turnover department. However, they have their hands full with the Eagles.

On the flip side, not many are surprised the Eagles are 2-0 on the season. Jalen Hurts is doing everything with his arms and legs as expected. The defense is also holding their own. There are a ton of weapons on this offense and they can beat you in multiple ways. I think Philly goes on the road and beats Tampa Bay Monday night.
