Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones is never one to shy away from a microphone or camera. He makes weekly appearances on a radio show and is often good for an interesting quote. This week, however, Jones is being cautious with his words. Ahead of the matchup against the Eagles, Jones doesn’t want to say anything that could fire up the rival team.
Dallas Cowboys Jerry Jones On Week 9 Matchup
Jones resisted the urge to talk some trash after a huge win against the Los Angeles Rams. “Let’s soak this one up,” he told reporters, referencing Dallas’ 43-20 win over the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday. “I don’t want to do anything to poke the bear.” That bear is the Philadelphia Eagles who sit solidly atop the NFC with only one loss. They haven’t looked perfect but they are the clear favorite in the NFC as of this point. The Cowboys have had issues in big games this season and Jones does not want to eat his words.
Do The Cowboys Have A Chance?
The Eagles seem to have the most talent in the league. AJ Brown is on a historic receiving yard run and Devonta Smith and Dallas Goedert are making doubling him dangerous. Defensively, while the secondary has been suspect, the defensive line has been feasting and the team also traded for safety Kevin Byard in order to help out the back end. The Cowboys will need to play a game like they did on Sunday. They had perfect complementary football which they will need if they are going to upset the Eagles.
Jerry Jones isn’t talking any trash which says a lot about what he thinks about the matchup. The Dallas Cowboys are hoping they can carry over the good performance of week 8 to week 9 and catch the Eagles by surprise.
