Former Cincinnati Bengals Star Thinks Blockbuster 2024 Justin Jefferson Trade Is Real

The Cincinnati Bengals are getting surrounded by a crazy trade rumor that was sparked by none other than star Bengals receiver Ja’Marr Chase. On Tuesday Chase shared a cryptic tweet that had many fans believing that the team may be interested in pairing the LSU all time receivers with their LSU quarterback Joe Burrow. Now, a former star Bengals player is saying that this trade may be for real.

Former Cincinnati Bengals’ Tyler Eifert Says This Trade Is Real

After Chase sparked this rumor, former Bengals tight end Tyler Eifert tweeted,

“Sources telling me Jefferson to Cincy is in motion.”

This tweet, like Chase’s, has been going viral. It sparked the Cincy Jungle writing an article that read, “Former Bengals star Tyler Eifert jokes that Vikings All-Pro Justin Jefferson is headed to Cincinnati.” This had everyone thinking it must just be a joke. However, in crazy fashion, Eifert replied to the post of the article and made it explicitly known he wasn’t joking.

Minnesota Vikings’ GM Says There Are No Plans To Trade Justin Jefferson

Jefferson is not a guy that a team would just give up. It would cost a lot to bring him over to Cincy for a legendary LSU reunion. While the idea is very intriguing, there has been no indication that Minnesota is interested in trading the star receiver. For this to happen, Jefferson would need to officially request a trade out of Minnesota, and the Bengals would have to offer the right amount for a trade to go through.

While the departure of Kirk Cousins may sway Jefferson a bit, there is still no indication that Jefferson is really done with the Vikings.

“The Vikings came close to extending WR Justin Jefferson last offseason. In Indy, GM Kwesi Adofo-Mensah aggressively rejected the idea of trading the star,” Dianna Russini of The Athletic said. “Kirk Cousins’ departure hasn’t changed things. The Vikings have no plans to trade Jefferson.”
