NFL insider Adam Schefter has been getting hammered on Twitter after a tweet he posted following the death of NFL controversial running back O.J. Simpson. After the news broke the NFL world was going crazy. Schefter’s quote immediately went viral following his comments about the news.
“O.J. Simpson, the former football great who was accused of and ultimately acquitted of the brutal 1994 slayings of his ex-wife and her friend, has died, according to his family,” Schefter wrote on X. “He was 76.”
Adam Schefter Is Being Slammed On Twitter For Comments
The Simpson family clearly wanted privacy following the death of the running back, and they did not have much to say in regards to O.J. losing his battle to cancer. They only shared this short passage:
“On April 10th, our father, Orenthal James Simpson, succumbed to his battle with cancer,” the family said. “He was surrounded by his children and grandchildren. During this time of transition, his family asks that you please respect their wishes for privacy and grace.”
Many people now have been saying that Schefter should have left out the part about the double murder as the news was just about his death.
Others were happy that he included it as that is a crucial part of the controversial mans life. There is an argument to be made on both sides of this Schefter situation but many more fans were not happy that he included that part in his post.
NFL Fans React To O.J. Simpson’s Death
While there were some NFL fans who were respectful in their comments, most of the comments were comedic and poking at the controversies of Simpson’s life. Here are some of the best fan reactions:
“Got away with murder. “
“O.J. Simpson was an abusive liar who abandoned his community long before he killed two people in cold blood. His acquittal for murder was the correct and necessary result of a racist criminal legal system. But he’s still a monster, not a martyr.”
“And we will never know who did it”
“bro looking up on us all”
