As the NFL draft is fast approaching, many teams are doing their due diligence on their top prospects. The most polarizing prospect in this years draft has been Michigan Nation Champion J.J. McCarthy. There are some analysts who have him going in the late first round, and some who think he can go as high as top 5.
While there has been a lot of rumors and reports that the Minnesota Vikings are very interested in drafting the quarterback prospect, it is being reported now that 2 NFC East teams have real interest in McCarthy as well.
Two NFC East Teams Have Real Interest In J.J. McCarthy
According to Bleacher Report’s Jordan Schultz, J.J. McCarthy visited with the New York Giants this past week, and is set to have a dinner meeting with the Washington Commanders.
With New York, the quarterback toured the facilities and had dinner with the front office members. Both of these NFC East teams are picking in the top 6 and the Commanders have the number two overall pick. It would be shocking if the Commanders picked McCarthy No. 2 overall in the NFL Draft. But you never know, and McCarthy’s stock has been getting higher and higher ahead of the draft.
NFL Draft Could Have Major Surprises
With numerous reports now the Vikings are trying to trade up to select McCarthy, and reports now of the Commanders and New England Patriots both doing their due diligence on the quarterback, we are set for a crazy NFL draft this year.
McCarthy could go as high as top 5, or he could end up landing outside of the top 10. But from what all the reports are saying, it is more likely we see the quarterback go in the top five. While it would be shocking for either the Commanders or Patriots to select him at 2 or 3 respectively, anything can happen in the draft. It is more likely that the Vikings trade up to the four slot to take him or he may fall to the Giants at pick.
