The New York Jets suffered a devastating loss at the hands of the Miami Dolphins on Sunday. The Jets got themselves shut out by the Dolphins, 30-0, in a truly disappointing performance that saw their playoff hopes come crashing down.
To add insult to injury, starting quarterback Zach Wilson was unable to finish the game due to a concerning injury — one that could potentially keep him sidelined for the next few games.
New York Jets Rule Zach Wilson Out Vs. Dolphins
Wilson exited Sunday’s blowout before halftime and was eventually unable to return. Initial reports indicated that the 24-year-old headed to the locker room to get himself rehydrated. It was then reported that Wilson had suffered some sort of injury, which at that time, was not deemed a concussion.
It wasn’t until later in the game that the Jets ruled their QB1 out for the remainder of the contest after diagnosing him with a concussion:

This only means that Wilson will be placed under the league’s concussion protocol and that he could miss time.
Wilson finished the game with 14-of-26 completed passes for 110 yards. He had two interceptions and was sacked no less than four times.
Jets’ Playoff Hopes Are Done
This gutting loss officially put an end to New York’s hopes for a spot in the playoffs. They are now 5-9 and third in the AFC East. Only the 3-11 New England Patriots have a worse record than the Jets in their division.
The fact that New York is no longer in playoff contention likely means that Aaron Rodgers won’t be returning this season. There was a lot of hope that the four-time MVP would be able to come back from his Achilles injury in time for the Jets’ playoff run, which now isn’t going to happen.
