Former No. 2 overall pick Zach Wilson was named the Jets’ starting quarterback for this week’s game against the Texans. It’s been a tumultuous path, to say the least for Wilson. He’s been benched at some point in each of the three seasons he’s played.
Most recently, he was benched for journeyman Tim Boyle who only lasted two weeks as the stater. With options getting thin for Head Coach Robert Saleh, he’s decided to bring back the man who got him in this situation to begin with.
Zach Wilson — benched in each of the past two seasons, most recently in late November in favor of Tim Boyle, who was released yesterday — has been named the Jets' starting quarterback for Sunday's game vs. the Texans.

It was reported that Wilson was reluctant to step back into the starting lineup. With how terrible the Jets’ offensive line has been, not many can blame him. He’ll now get another chance to prove that his career is redeemable.
On a less serious note, it’s been an interesting situation, to say the least.
Fans across the league are poking fun at the Jets for their quarterback dysfunction.

Zach Wilson will certainly have his work cut out for him against an up and coming Houston defense.
We’ll see if he’s be able to take command of the Jets’ offense well enough, that there won’t be memes about it. While the jury will remain out on that for now, Jets fans will have to remain hopeful.
