New York Jets owner Woody Johnson once again came out in support of 2024 presidential candidate and former president Donald Trump.
Donald Trump was giving a victory speech after winning the South Carolina Republican primary, and Johnson could be seen with him in this video.
New York Jets Owner Woody Johnson previously worked under Donald Trump
Johnson previously served as the U.S. ambassador to the United Kingdom when Trump was the president from 2016 to 2020. The owner of the New York Jets was accused of sexist and racist comments while in this role, but he vehemently denied all of them in an article from Pro Football Talk.
“I have followed the ethical rules and requirements of my office at all times,” Johnson wrote. “These false claims of insensitive remarks about race and gender are totally inconsistent with my longstanding record and values.”
New York Jets star safety at the time, Jamal Adams, spoke out against Woody Johnson via social media. Adams was traded not long after he made a tweet directed at Woody Johnson.

New York Jets owner Woody Johnson gave his reasoning for supporting Donald Trump
New York Jets owner Woody Johnson explained why he continues to support Trump in a different Pro Football Talk article.
“Americans remember how good it was or how much better it was on the border, and inflation, and gas prices, and grocery prices, all that, during the Trump administration, and they want to get back there,” Johnson said. “So I think the most important thing is getting the former president back in the White House, which looks like it’s happening.”
When Woody Johnson was asked about his support for Donald Trump in the past, he refused to acknowledge it and requested to only talk about football in an article from the New York Daily News.
“If we could stick to football questions that would be great,” Johnson told reporters before the Jets’ minicamp practice.
