The New York Jets are one of the NFL teams with the most to lose this upcoming season. If future Hall of Fame quarterback Aaron Rodgers cannot return to his old self after tearing his Achilles and missing all but four snaps of last season, there is going to be a great deal of turnover on their roster and coaching staff. Even Rodgers said, “Well, I think if I don’t do what I’m capable of doing, then we’re all probably gonna be out of here.”
Entering his age 41 season, Rodgers certainly has a great deal to overcome in order to put together another solid season. Both he and the Jets are hoping that the four-time NFL MVP will help New York make the postseason for the first time since 2010. While putting up MVP numbers would certainly help, there is some doubt that he will be able to, even with the Jets’ revamped offense.
That being said, Rodgers still is listed in the top-10 of early MVP favorites for the 2024 NFL season, but also finds himself behind the quarterback who replaced him on the Green Bay Packers.
New York Jets Quarterback Aaron Rodgers Is Behind Jordan Love in 2024 NFL MVP Odds

That quarterback, of course, is Jordan Love, whom the Packers traded up to select in the first round of 2020 NFL Draft. According to Draftkings Sportsbook (via The Sporting News), Rodgers has +1600 odds to win the 2024 NFL MVP.
Jordan Love has +1400 odds of winning the same award.
Rodgers is tied with Jalen Hurts of the Philadelphia Eagles as having the eighth best odds to win NFL MVP. Love has the fifth-best odds, being tied with reigning MVP Lamar Jackson of the Baltimore Ravens and Brock Purdy of the San Francisco 49ers.
If Rodgers were to shock the world and win his fifth NFL MVP Award, it would tie him with Peyton Manning for the most such wins in NFL history.
The New York Jets Have Put a Good Team (on Paper) Around Aaron Rodgers

After failing to surround Rodgers with adequate talent on offense last season, the Jets have done their due diligence in finding quality players for their star quarterback. Instead of relying on a lackluster offensive line, they went out and signed All-Pro left tackle Tyron Smith and drafted Olu Fashanu.
New York also went out and signed wide receiver Mike Williams, who is coming off of an ACL tear in 2023. Like Rodgers, Williams has a great deal to prove as his one-year contract is heavily incentive-laden. However, if he gets back to his previous form, he will be a formidable weapon in the passing game alongside Garrett Wilson.
In other words, the Jets have done just about everything they can to give Rodgers the best possible team. The question, and it is a big one, is whether or not they will be able to put it all together on the field.
