The New York Jets will have the seventh overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft. The Jets will be looking to turn the corner as a franchise after going 5-12 last season and they have not made the playoffs since the 2010 season.

Aaron Glenn is the new head coach for the New York Jets after being the defensive coordinator for the Detroit Lions. Things will appear to be different for the Jets next season. They are also moving on from Aaron Rodgers at quarterback this offseason.
Latest PFF Mock Draft Has the New York Jets Drafting Cam Ward

Pro Football Focus writer Jordan Plocher created his latest mock draft for 2025. With the seventh overall selection, he has the New York Jets selecting Miami Hurricanes quarterback Cam Ward. It would feel like a surprise if Ward was available with that pick.
There is a chance that he is gone by the third overall pick when the New York Giants are on the clock then. Plocher said about the Jets snagging Ward with the seventh overall pick:
“With the Jets moving on from veteran quarterback Aaron Rodgers, selecting Ward gives them a new signal-caller and face of the franchise. He’ll step into a situation with a top wide receiver already in place, while new head coach Aaron Glenn will look to build a strong defense to support the young quarterback.”
Cam Ward would be an interesting Aaron Rodgers replacement for this franchise. Ward last season with the Miami Hurricanes completed 67.2% of his passes for 4,313 yards, 39 touchdowns, and seven interceptions.
Other Options

If the New York Jets can not draft Cam Ward, there is a chance that they will re-sign Tyrod Taylor for next season anyway. It would make sense for them to draft a quarterback. but drafting tight end Taylor Warren from the Penn State Nittany Lions might make more sense.
Will see how the 2025 NFL Draft plays out. However, the New York Jets drafting a quarterback seventh overall may feel like a pipedream for the franchise.
