New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers, unfortunately, has not made any headlines for his play on the field for over a year. Perhaps his most notable recent throw was his final pass as the quarterback of the Green Bay Packers, an interception that cost Green Bay a spot in the 2022 NFL Playoffs. Since that play, Rodgers was traded to New York and Jordan Love led the Packers back to the postseason.
Of course, there is much more to the situation than just those things. Rodgers tore his Achilles early in Week One in the Jets’ game versus the Buffalo Bills. He also made headlines for controversial reasons, as he did in the final days of his tenure in Green Bay.
Aaron Rodgers Was Traded to the New York Jets After a Series of Controversial Moments with the Green Bay Packers

The relationship between the Packers and Rodgers started to go downhill when the team drafted Jordan Love in the 2020 NFL Draft. Not only did they draft him, they traded up to get him. Rodgers responded by putting together one of the best seasons of his career, winning the NFL MVP Award for the third time in his career that year.
While Rodgers never took out his frustrations on Love (the two had, and still have, a great relationship), things were tense between him and the front office. In 2021, Adam Schefter reported that Rodgers was demanding a trade from Green Bay. While that did not happen, the Packers bowed to many of his wishes (brining back Randall Cobb) and Rodgers did not show up to team activities until mandatory training camp.
Outside of Rodgers’ uneasy relationship with the front office, he began to make headlines off the field as much as he was making them on it. He began doing weekly interviews on The Pat McAfee Show, and while the world was given a front row seat to Rodgers’ absolute genius regarding football, they were also witnesses to some of his more controversial moments.
Of course, one of the most memorable among these was his stance on COVID vaccines and his own disingenuity regarding his immunization status when he tested positive for the virus in 2021. Additionally, Rodgers’ views on other topics, such as aliens, government conspiracy theories, and Jimmy Kimmel, became just as much of a talking-point on other media platforms as his play.
New York Jets Quarterback Aaron Rodgers Believes in the Tartarian Conspiracy

During a recent podcast appearance hosted by QAnon promoter Eddie Bravo, Rodgers talked about his belief in the Tartarian Conspiracy. This belief, which surfaced in the 1970s, states that an ancient culture made up of giants were responsible for the architectural wonders of the world built from the beginning of time up until 1900. Some cataclysmic event wiped out this culture, and the world’s leading governments have since taken responsibility for the buildings, which range from the Great Pyramid to the White House:
“It’s very interesting stuff. “What is actually true that we’ve been told and what is a lie. They go, ‘Why does that f***ing matter?’ Because if they can lie about that, what else can they lie about?”
To hammer home the point, Rodgers and Bravo were joined on the show by its producer, Sean Hibbeler, a Holocaust denier and flat earther who promotes pro-Hitler performers on his show. He explained:
“For me it’s the cover-up of giants, the cover-up of our true history. It’s basically stolen technology that’s being sold back to us little by little… like the puppets we are.”
For the record, there is no proof of Tartaria ever existing.
Rodgers, of course, is free to believe whatever he wants to believe. It is concerning, however, that he is rubbing elbows with anti-Semites and Nazi supporters in order to make these beliefs known.
