The New York Jets have been making lots of moves this offseason. While the Aaron Rodgers saga drags on, the consensus is that a deal will get done at some point. The Jets are not sitting on their hands. The team has signed former Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Mecole Hardman to a one-year deal.

New York Jets Sign Mecole Hardman
The Jets are loading up on receivers for Rodgers. After signing Allen Lazard, they now ink Hardman to a reported one-year deal that could be worth up to $6.5 million. While Hardman was not the top option in Kansas City, his speed made him a big play threat every time he touched the ball. New York is hoping that he can be a solid WR3 behind reigning Offensive Rookie of the Year Garrett Wilson and Lazard.

High Hopes In New York
No one can accuse the Jets of not going for it. They are doing everything they can to fill out the roster on the edges to make sure they can make a run in a tough AFC. Hardman is the type of player that can swing the balance of a game because of his speed. While he won’t put up big game-to-game numbers, he will turn a simple bubble screen into a long touchdown every so often which could be the difference in a game.
It is another weapon for Aaron Rodgers and the Jets. This offense will look drastically different next year and a lot is expected. Players like Hardman will need to step up if the Jets are going to be major players in the AFC next season.
