Aaron Rodgers’ comeback for the New York Jets this past season never came to be. The four-time NFL MVP did all he could to return from what was previously deemed as a season-ending Achilles injury only for the Jets to decide that it would be more prudent to just wait for 2024-25.
That can’t come sooner for Jets fans. As it turns out, the same is the case for New York cornerback Sauce Gardner.
New York Jets CB All-In on Aaron Rodgers Hype Train
In a recent AMA on Twitter, Gardner decided to address one particular question about his QB and the team’s plans for him next season. There have been talks about the Jets bringing in Sam Howell as Rodgers’ backup — a notion that Gardner seems to consider irrelevant in terms of the bigger picture:
Honestly, it doesn't matter because Aaron is about to do something this year that shocks the world in a great way. Ohh, and CPOY -LeSauce(GM) https://t.co/c4mM25obmc

According to Sauce, it isn’t really important who ends up backing Rodgers up this coming season. Whoever that is presumably won’t have much of a chance to prove his worth with A-Rod back at full strength.
There is no doubt in Gardner’s mind that Rodgers will be back stronger than ever in 2024-25.
A lot will be expected from Rodgers in his second year with the Jets. His teammates are clearly doing their bit to add more fuel to the flame.
Knowing Rodgers, though, he’s more than capable of living up to all the hype. As Gardner said, the football world better be ready for what his 40-year-old teammate is about to do this coming season.
