New York Giants head coach Brian Daboll will be entering his third season in 2024 as the leader of the franchise. During his first season, he had a 9-7-1 record and made the playoffs. New York won a playoff against the Minnesota Vikings before losing in the NFC Divisional Round against the Philadelphia Eagles.
Last season, they had a 6-11 record and missed the playoffs entirely. This will be a big third season for New York Giants head coach Brian Daboll. They will own the sixth overall selection in the 2024 NFL Draft. New York has a lot of options with that selection and they could either draft a quarterback, draft a wide receiver, draft an offensive lineman, or trade back with that selection.

It is very possible that the Giants may not get a quarterback with that pick and can either go with players like Romeo Odunze from Washington, Marvin Harrison Jr. from Ohio State, or Malik Nabers from LSU. Since the Giants need a wide receiver, what if they don’t draft a wide receiver? They can go a different route instead.
The New York Giants are Linked to Buffalo Bills Wide Receiver Stefon Diggs and He Played For Brian Daboll With the Buffalo Bills

Position: WR. Years: 2020-23
Achievements: Has had the greatest four-year run at the position in Bills history, and it really isn’t close. … Has been a Pro Bowler all four years, was a first-team All-Pro in 2020 and second-teamer in 2022. … On a team that had only one 100-catch season (Eric Moulds), he has done it all four years he’s been here, including a team-record 127 in 2020. … He’s already fourth in team history in catches (445), yards (5,372), and TDs (37) and is third in 100-yard games (21). … His 11 TDs in 2022 is tied for the single-season team record with Bill Brooks.
The Bills have made many moves already this offseason and have been shedding some salary. Buffalo wide receiver Stefon Diggs once again is mentioned in trade talks. According to Spotrac, he will have a cap hit north of $27 million for the 2024 season. After this season, the Bills could get out of his contract and it would be a dead cap hit of $22,247,000.

If they are not out of the contract after next season, then he wouldn’t become an unrestricted free agent until after the 2027 season. Stefon Diggs is already 30 years old. Last season with the Buffalo Bills. he caught 107 passes for 1,183 yards receiving, and eight touchdowns, and also averaged 11.1 yards per reception.
Diggs also was targeted 160 times last season by quarterback Josh Allen. Nick Faria of Pro Football Focus wrote about the possibility of Stefon Diggs reuniting with Brian Daboll by saying:
“Every organization outside of the Philadelphia Eagles should have some semblance of interest in the Bills’ All-Pro wideout. New York doesn’t have the kind of weapons on the outside to compete with other top offenses in their division or conference. Pairing Diggs with Brian Daboll — the Bills’ former offensive coordinator and now Giants head coach — is also something that could entice the wideout to come to the Big Apple. Daniel Jones may not be the best quarterback out of any on this list, but New York’s improvements on defense, and Diggs’ trust in Daboll could be a major difference.”
New York Giants general manager Joe Schoen was also an assistant general manager to Brandon Beane when he was in the Buffalo Bills front office. Daniel Jones also may not be the Week 1 starter next season for the Giants and it could be Drew Lock or someone else. The Giants won’t be the only team interested in trading for wide receiver Stefon Diggs.
