The New York Giants made waves in free agency by signing veteran quarterback Russell Wilson to a one-year, $21 million deal and adding Jameis Winston as his backup on a two-year, $8 million contract. But with their quarterback room solidified — at least in the short term — attention now turns to surrounding them with weapons.
Enter Tetairoa McMillan.
The Arizona wide receiver may not be the flashiest name in the 2024 NFL Draft, but his skill set could be a perfect fit in Brian Daboll’s offense, especially alongside emerging star Malik Nabers, who posted 109 catches for 1,204 yards and seven touchdowns as a rookie.
New York Giants a Perfect Fit for Tetairoa McMillan

According to Pro Football Focus’ Lauren Gray, who put together a list of each of the top wide receiver prospects in this year’s draft’s ideal fits based on the route tree, the Giants’ current scheme and route preferences align perfectly with McMillan’s strengths:
“No team targeted hitch routes more in 2024 than the New York Giants (118),” Gray writes for PFF. “Led by Wan’Dale Robinson (41) and Malik Nabers (39). The Giants have plenty of options with the No. 3 pick and could be tempted to add a true No. 2 receiver alongside Nabers.
“They re-signed Darius Slayton and added Lil’Jordan Humphrey, Zach Pascal and Ihmir-Smith Marsette, but none has the ceiling that McMillan teases. The Giants also targeted go and out routes at a high rate, and McMillan racked up 48 combined targets on those plays across the past two seasons with PFF receiving grades above 76.0 for each. If Travis Hunter and Abdul Carter are off the board and the Giants are comfortable with their quarterback situation, McMillan could be a name to keep an eye on.”

With reliable hands, crisp route-running, and the ability to stretch the field, McMillan would give the Giants a versatile weapon capable of winning at all three levels. Paired with Nabers, the duo could give Wilson — or Winston — the most dynamic receiving corps New York has had in years.
