The Atlanta Falcons made a move on Monday, as they have added quarterback Easton Stick to their QB room.
Although Stick isn’t expected to move the needle much for the Falcons, the move was still an intriguing one, considering the timing in relation to the upcoming 2025 NFL draft.
Having another quarterback also prompts some questions about the Falcons’ stance on veteran signal-caller Kirk Cousins, whom Atlanta signed to a four-year, $180 million.
Nevertheless, the Falcons are expected to have Michael Penix Jr. as their Week 1 starter in 2025. As long as Cousins is on the team, Stick will be a No. 3 QB at best. If Cousins gets moved this offseason, the 29-year-old Stick may have a shot at the main backup role along with Emory Jones.
Stick was taken in the fifth round of the 2019 NFL draft by the Los Angeles Chargers but has appeared in only six games with a 0-4 record so far in his career in the league.
The team also announced its signing of Stick via a post on X (formerly Twitter).
