The New York Giants have the third overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft. With Miami quarterback Cam Ward presumably being picked first overall by the Tennessee Titans, and Heisman Trophy winner Travis Hunter likely going second overall to the Cleveland Browns, New York has the ability to take just about any player that they want.
Or so they thought.
With the draft starting in less than an hour (at the time of this writing), general manager Joe Schoen and his staff are in scramble mode.
The New York Giants Fear They Will Lose Out on Quarterback Jaxson Dart

Over the course of the last several days, it has been leaked that the Giants would like to draft Ole Miss quarterback Jaxson Dart with third overall pick. Also over the course of the last couple of days, the Browns have made it known that they are willing to trade down from the second overall pick.
This, of course, has seen several quarterback-needy teams reach out to them about trading up, presumeably to take Dart.
And the Giants’ front office is in shambles:
#Giants draft room is total chaos today, no clear plan or vision and frustration over Dart interest being leaked.

It would appear that New York did not have a backup plan for the third overall pick in the event Dart was drafted before they were on the clock. One can understand why. With the first two picks already pretty much locked in, they should have been able to bank on their top target being there.
And while he still could be, they face a real possibility of missing out if Cleveland gets a trade package that they like for the second overall pick.
The next hour will certainly be hectic inside their draft room.
