LSU Tigers WR Malik Nabers: Monster 2023 Season with Heisman Trophy-Winning Quarterback
Nabers, a four-star recruit per 247Sports, enrolled with the LSU Tigers in 2021. The Louisiana native played well as a true freshman, recording 28 receptions for 417 yards and four touchdowns. He took a significant step forward in 2022, posting 1,017 receiving yards and three touchdowns in his first season with quarterback Jayden Daniels. The duo exploded in 2023, with Daniels throwing for 3,812 yards and 40 touchdowns while winning the Heisman Trophy Award.
Nabers was far and away his favorite target, catching 89 passes for 1,569 yards and 14 touchdowns. The six-foot-one wideout earned All-American honors and nearly won the receiving triple crown in the SEC. His best game came against Mississippi State in mid-September, collecting 13 receptions for 239 yards and two scores.
New York Giants: Desperate for Speed, Offensive Playmakers
The New York Giants finished the year scoring 15.6 points per game, the third-worst average in the NFL. They held the bottom five marks in passing yards and passing touchdowns. Franchise quarterback Daniel Jones missed most of the season, but even when he did play, the offense lacked dynamic playmakers outside star running back Saquon Barkley. Five-foot-eight slot receiver Wan’Dale Robinson and former third-round pick Jalin Hyatt showed flashes of excellence. Adding an elite, potentially generational talent in Malik Nabers could greatly benefit the growth of the entire offense.
The Giants will look to get quarterback Daniel Jones back on track next season. His rating fell more than 20 points from this season to last.
