The New York Giants may be looking to move on from quarterback Daniel Jones sooner rather than later. They signed him to a four-year deal worth $160 million last offseason and it appears they are regretting that decision.
Jones ended his season in Week 9 last year with a Torn ACL against the Las Vegas Raiders. On Monday on the Rich Eisen Show, Rich Eisen made a comment about how the Giants really feel about Daniel Jones moving. He said this:
“The Giants are absolutely done with Daniel Jones. The words I heard at the combine multiples times were buyers remorse.”
These are very strong words from Eisen after when Jones was backed by general manager Joe Schoen during the NFL scouting combine. There is a lot of smoke screens at this time of year, but what Eisen is saying probably has some meaning to it.
Schoen and head coach Brian Daboll don’t want to double down on a quarterback who has had season-ending injuries throughout the last two of three years of his NFL career.
New York Giants Fans React to Rich Eisen’s Comments About Quarterback Daniel Jones
Ever since drafting him sixth overall in the 2019 NFL Draft out of Duke, there have been a lot of Giants fans that have questioned the selection. That selection was made by former general manager Dave Gettleman and he set the franchise back. Some have hated the player and some have loved the player. Here are some reactions by the fan base about Rich Eisen’s comments about Jones:

Once again rich eisen is hearing something that not one of the giants beat writers have heard or is not willing to share. 👀🍿🥤 https://t.co/nUcy3fBvRH

Rich Eisen has been a Danny Hater since DAY ONE. What an embarrassment.

There have been mixed reactions by this fanbase from the very beginning about Jones and it is no different in this situation. New York owns the sixth overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft. They met with a lot of different quarterbacks at the NFL scouting combine.
It will be interesting to see if the Giants move up or not in the NFL Draft to draft a quarterback. The other quarterbacks on the roster during last season were Tyrod Taylor and Tommy DeVito. It appears as if neither of them are the answer for the future for the franchise. DeVito was a good story for them last season but is just a backup at best.
A lot can play out between now and the end of April. However, it seems as if the Jones era is over and they are going to be moving on from him.
