The New York Giants fans were angry when running back Saquon Barkley signed with the Philadelphia Eagles and now they are laughing.

Per a league source, the NFL is investigating potential tampering by the Eagles during the negotiating period prior to signing Barkley.

Saquon Barkley signed with the Eagles and it was a three-year deal worth $37.75 million and $26 million of it was guaranteed. Barkley played college football at Penn State and it was one of the reasons why he decided to go play in Philadelphia.

Penn State Nittany Lions head coach James Franklin said to the media about Barkley:

“For him now to come back and be able to play within the state in Philadelphia, [Barkley] said that was one of the first things that Howie [Roseman] said to him on the phone as part of his sales pitch to him. Not only the Philadelphia Eagles but obviously the connection with Penn State and the fan bases as well.”

It will be interesting to see whether or not the NFL will punish the Eagles for breaking rules. It would make a lot of New York Giants fans happy if it did happen.

The Giants fanbase hates the Eagles and it appears as if the rivalry is growing stronger between New York and Philadelphia after the Saquon Barkley signing. The fans responded on Twitter when they found out that the NFL is investigating the Eagles for potential tampering:

Make Barkley retire and strip the franchise of there poverty Super Bowl

    Saquon should be arrested

Howie Roseman cried about Gannon talking to the Cardinals early so I am glad to see him getting the heat on the other side. Hypocrite won’t like it when the rules (whether they make sense or not) are applied to him.

The odds of the Philadelphia Eagles either getting fined or stripped of their first-round pick draft pick seem slim for now. If the NFL were to come out and say the Eagles were tampering and got penalized for it, the New York Giants fanbase would be totally ruthless and it would just add more fuel to the fire in this rivalry.
