New York Giants general manager Joe Schoen will be entering his third season with the franchise. Before becoming the Giants general manager, he was the assistant general manager to Brandon Beanne for the Buffalo Bills.
During the offseason, it was revealed in Hard Knocks that the Giants were trying to trade up for a quarterback in the 2024 NFL Draft but failed to do so. Instead, the Giants kept the sixth overall pick in the draft and selected wide receiver Malik Nabers from LSU.
New York Giants Fans Question General Manager Joe Schoen Ahead Of the 2024 NFL Season
With the 2024 regular season set to begin in less than two weeks, many Giants fans are unhappy with the way things have gone in the preseason. The Giants did not record a single touchdown pass. Daniel Jones, Tommy DeVito, and Drew Lock are in the quarterback room entering the 2024 season.
Fans were not happy with the way general manager Joe Schoen addressed the quarterback situation during the 2024 NFL offseason. This is what some Giants fans had to say about Schoen:

Joe Schoen hasn’t done a good job but hasn’t been privy to the same criticism that Gettleman, who sucked too, was. If the Bills drafted Darnold instead of Allen, who was their first choice, he wouldn’t be a GM. That and the fact he was willing to work for Mara, were red flags.

It will be interesting to see what happens this season at quarterback. If Daniel Jones does not play well or if he gets benched or injured, it could cost the Giants general manager his job.
They Could Have Addressed the Position Much Better
The Giants had Tyrod Taylor on the roster last season. He left in free agency to the New York Jets. Taylor is better than any quarterback on the Giants roster right now. Drew Lock is not good at all and Tommy DeVito may not make the 53-man roster.
Ryan Tannehill is currently a free agent. He would no doubt be the best option for the Giants to win games this season. They could be a very bad football team this season if Daniel Jones starts all 17 games for them this season. New York could no doubt be in play for the number one overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft and get quarterback Carson Beck from the Georgia Bulldogs.
