The New York Giants rewarded Daniel Jones with a new contract after a career year. The team made the playoffs and knocked off the Minnesota Vikings in the wild card round. Now, the team is looking to build off of last year under head coach Brian Daboll. Jones is confident that this team is one of the best in the NFC.
New York Giants Daniel Jones On 2023 Season
Jones is confident the team can build off of last season. “We’re confident, and we know we can compete with anybody,” Jones told Ryan Dunleavy of the New York Post. The confidence isn’t completely misplaced. Daboll won the Coach of the Year and offensive coordinator Mike Kafka had multiple interviews for head coaching positions. The roster improved over the offseason as well. The issue is that they are in the toughest division in the NFC by far.
Tough NFC East
The Eagles and the Cowboys are some of the favorites in the NFC and the Giants have to play them twice. If the Giants were in any other division, they likely would be among the favorites. If the team can build on last season, they will likely be in the wild card hunt similar to last year. It all hinges on Jones. The big question people have is whether last year was a sign of things to come or a one-hit wonder season. The good news is the receiver room should have more talent than last year which will make Jones’ life easier.
The New York Giants have put their faith in Daniel Jones. Will he rise to the occasion or will this prove to be a mistake?
