The New England Patriots have to nail the 2025 off-season if they hope to be competitive next year. One of the best ways to do that is by hitting on Draft picks. Obviously with New England’s number four pick, they will likely target an offensive tackle, or a true star in Penn State linebacker, Abdul Carter.
However, with their second round pick, they have some flexibility to move around the Draft board. If they are willing to move back up into the first round from pick thirty-eight, then they might be able to secure another very good player in Emeka Egbuka. Egbuka is a receiver from Ohio State, and may have solidified himself as a first round pick. So if the Patriots want to get aggresive, will they be willing to go get Drake Maye a weapon he can count on?

Egbuka is an absolute monster in the slot, consistently finding zones to get open and moving the chains regularly. He can be a true safety blanket for Drake Maye if he makes his way to Foxborough. At six-foot-one-inch, and two hundred and five pounds, Egbuka has great size, and a great frame to be a high volume receiver in the NFL. He showed throughout Ohio State’s National Championship run, that he has all the tools to succeed. He is a very quarterback friendly receiver, because he can always be counted on. The Patriots should seriously consider doing everything in their power to get this National Champion to Foxborough.
Is Egbuka an ideal Josh McDaniels Receiver?

After the recent hiring of Josh McDaniels as the Patriots Offensive Coordinator, many eyes turned to Egbuka as a Draft target. McDaniels loves his slot receivers, and over the years, he has had quite a few successful ones. With Egbuka’s size and route running skills, he could turn into an All-Pro caliber slot receiver. Especially with a very talented quarterback like Drake Maye throwing him the ball. If McDaniels has a say in who the Patriots are drafting, there is a very good chance he makes a hard push for Egbuka.
How can New England maximize Egbuka’s Potential?

If the Patriots want to maximize Egbuka’s potential, they could bring in a true outside “X” receiver to complement Egbuka. There is one name that is continuously linked to the Patriots and that is Tee Higgins. If the Bengals Receiver, hits the Free Agency Market, New England should give him a blank check. Adding Higgins and Egbuka to this offense would give Drake Maye two incredible weapons to grow with as a young quarterback. Not to mention Higgins would require a lot of attention from opposing defenses, allowing Egbuka to get favorable matchups in the slot. This would be incredibly beneficial for the Patriots, and could catapult this offense into something that other teams will fear throughout the week, as well as on Sundays.
