New Nebraska Cornhuskers quarterback Dylan Raiola is going viral on social media for looking exactly like star Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes.

Not only does Raiola look the part, but Raiola himself claims to be doing the things Mahomes does to excel at the game of football.

Nebraska Cornhuskers QB Dylan Raiola has caught the eye of broader NFL media for looking like Kansas City Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes

Outside of one of the most dominant defensive players in college football history (Ndamukong Suh), the only reason Nebraska has found itself in the limelight of football media in the last two decades has been its staggering continuation of mediocrity.

Now, the Huskers have a head-turning five-star quarterback that is drawing attention from all over the football world.

Major NFL pundits and stars have commented on Raiola due to how much he looks like Mahomes. Even Mahomes himself made a social media post in support of the young QB.

Nebraska Cornhuskers QB Dylan Raiola is more than just a Mahomes look-alike

Despite Raiola’s claim to fame becoming the fact that he looks like Mahomes, Raiola is doing more than just basing his appearance off the three-time Super Bowl champion.

Raiola, who even shares a coach with Mahomes, is patterning everything he does after the Kansas City megastar. According to Nebraska head coach Matt Rhule, Raiola even models the way he plays on the field after Mahomes.

Rhule commented on Raiola’s commitment to learning the game in an article from On3.

“We get out to the first practice and he comes out, and we’re sliding to the field and there’s a will free safety blitz and he’s like, ‘Hey, flipper flipper.’ … I had a tear running down my eye,” Rhule said on SiriusXM College during Big Ten Media Days.

“The next day, the other freshman quarterback who’s elitely talented, Danny Kaelin, and brilliant. He comes out and he does it. Then, all of a sudden, it starts taking off.”

As is the case with anything that goes viral, a myriad of comments regarding Raiola have flooded social media. Many Nebraska fans are enjoying being the center of the football world for something other than losing a one-score game.

Non-Nebraska fans are questioning what a five-star quarterback is doing in Lincoln while suggesting Raiola should “be himself.”

Why is a 5 star at Nebraska

    — Cole 🥥🧗 (@Crayist) July 31, 2024

He has a role model. What’s wrong with that? Also give the Internet trolls fuel to make fun of a 19 year old kid adam?
