Former Michigan Wolverines wide receiver and Heisman Trophy winner Desmond Howard announced that he will be a part of the upcoming College Football 25 video game via social media.
Howard is making a return to the EA Sports series as he was the cover athlete for NCAA 06. Howard will likely serve as an analyst/personality in College Football 25, but his exact role has not been specified. He announced his involvement with the game at the same time as many other analysts/personalities.
Kirk Herbstreit, Chris Fowler and more will join Desmond Howard in the new NCAA game
Desmond Howard is now the sixth voice to confirm his involvement in the new NCAA game. Joining Howard will be Kirk Herbstreit, Chris Fowler, David Pollack, Jesse Palmer and Kevin Connors. The inclusion of this many voices indicates an extensive focus on presentation.
The current version of Madden, which is made by the same development studio, has just two commentators in Brandon Gaudin and Charles Davis. Madden does not have any pregame or postgame presentation that involves real-life voices and/or talking heads.
Even NFL 2k5, which is two decades older than the current version of Madden, has extensive presentation that features longtime ESPN talking head Chris Berman.
No sports video game had a more detailed or immersive recap show like NFL 2K5 with Chris Berman narrating the highlights. It made fans feel like they were a part of the NFL themselves. @2k_Football_Now pic.twitter.com/PvYqZdSMnl

Desmond Howard was involved in NCAA 06 in a much different capacity
While the game with Desmond Howard on the cover, NCAA 06, did include a pregame show from commentators Brad Nessler, Lee Corso and Kirk Herbstreit, it did not include Desmond Howard in the same capacity.
Howard was the cover athlete and his main role was attached to the “Race for the Heisman” game mode that NCAA 06 featured. Vice president of marketing at EA’s Tiburon Studio Todd Sitrin explained why Desmond Howard was on the cover as someone who wasn’t a recently drafted player in an article from GameSpot.
“Desmond Howard provided one of the most vivid Heisman moments in college football history, and what better way to capture the essence of NCAA Football 06 than by putting his memorable Heisman touchdown pose on the cover of our game,” Sitrin said.
It remains to be seen whether Desmond Howard will have a role within the actual games, or if he will just be a part of the pregame/postgame shows.
