Myles Jack is the steal of the 2022 free agency. He has come on big time for the Steelers in 2 preseason games. Jack is a young guy who has proven for years on a bad team that he can be the guy in the middle. With uncertainty with Devin Bush and Jack turning 27 this year the contract numbers are a bargain.
Myles Jack Contract
Jack is on a 2 year $16 million dollar deal for the Steelers. Jack has surpassed 100 tackles 3 times in his career and has been a disrupter in the run and pass game. Not known for blitzing in his time with the Jaguars so his sack numbers don’t pop off the page. That is understandable because not many insider linebackers do. For the Steelers to get a 100 tackle a year guy who can disrupt on every level and plays with tenacity an average of $8 million dollars per is a great deal.
Myles Jack Production
If you’ve been watching the Steelers in preseason and you have been following their training camp Jack has been a big producer. He has to be the most productive guy on the roster not getting the attention he deserves. In practice and in the 2 preseason games the Pittsburgh Steelers have played he jumps off the screen. From being in the backfield disrupting runs. To being lock down in pass coverage he is exactly what we wanted Devin Bush to be. The Jury is still out on Bush and we will see if he progresses. If he doesn’t progress the Steelers go into next year with a 27 year old veteran guy who we can count on. From there the Steelers can look to the draft or free agency to add more depth to help.
Myles Jack’s Future
Myles Jack with his play and personality is a Steeler. He is a humble guy and lets his play do the talking for him. He is a high character selfless guy who came over to the Steelers on the cheap. There is no doubt that Myles is not going anywhere, with an always increasing salary cap and someone like him who is a football person and wants to win. The Steelers definitely need to make sure this guy is on the team for years to come.
