The Missouri Tigers are making sure that the SEC knows they are here to compete. They have spent the offseason landing a lot of talent through the transfer portal and head coach Eli Drinkwitz has struck again. Former Alabama Crimson Tide lineman Isaiah Hastings announced he has committed to the Tigers.

Missouri Tigers Land DL Isaiah Hastings
Hastings is a former four-star recruit in the 2022 cycle. The 6-foot-4, 280-pound defensive lineman was a top-100 recruit coming out of high school. He didn’t see the field in 2023 due to the glut of talent that Alabama has on the defensive line. Many of the nation’s top recruits from last year have entered the portal due to low playing time. With the ease of the transfer portal in 2024, players can look to find the program that will give them the playing time they desire.
Adding To A Top Class
The Tigers currently have the fifth-ranked transfer portal class according to On3. While they have had 15 players transfer out and some leave for the NFL Draft, the players they have gotten in have made up for it. Missouri has been able to attract a lot of disgruntled players from the top SEC programs. In 2023, they finished in the top ten in the country but because of Alabama and Georgia, were kind of an afterthought. The program is hoping to challenge those teams in 2024.
Can the Missouri Tigers take down the SEC’s elite? They certainly are building the talent base to do so.
