The Minnesota Vikings have added another piece to their defense on the first day of the NFL free-agency tampering period. The Minnesota Vikings have signed linebacker Andrew Van Ginkle to a two-year deal worth twenty million dollars.
Van Ginkle spent his first five years with the Miami Dolphins. Van Ginkle mostly found himself as a backup with the Dolphins but he made the most out of his time on the field putting up 17 total sacks, four forced fumbles, and two interceptions. Van Ginkle should play a bigger role and bring energy to the Minnesota Vikings Defense.
Midwest Ties
Van Ginkle played high school football in Rock Valley, Iowa. He then made his way through mutliple college football programs throughout the midwest. He started his college football start at the University of South Dakota, then transferred to renowned community college Iowa Western. Van GInkle finished his collegiate Career in Madison at the University of Wisconsin before being drafted by the Dolphins in the fifth round.
