Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Justin Jefferson is about to get paid. The fourth-year receiver is eligible for a new contract and it should be a no-brainer. However, there is always negotiating that happens and Jefferson will want to make sure to maximize the deal. Despite the ongoing talks, Jefferson is only focused on one thing this year, winning a Super Bowl.
Minnesota Vikings Justin Jefferson Focused On Winning Super Bowl
The first three years have been ridiculous for Jefferson. He has 4,825 receiving yards and 25 touchdowns over his first 50 games. Because of his production, he isn’t worried about getting paid. He is focused on getting better.
“That’s not the words that I have right now. Really, I’m about winning a Super Bowl,” Jefferson said on Wednesday, via The Associated Press. “Just getting the wins and being with my team. The contract is going to play itself out, and I’m just out here to play football.”
The Vikings had a monster regular season last year before being bounced in the first round of the playoffs. Jefferson is trying to show everyone that last year was not a fluke.
He’ll Get Paid
The reason that Jefferson is not worried is because there is no world where he doesn’t get paid. The Vikings knew this day was coming and have most likely already ear marked money for it. In a crazy world where the Vikings don’t pay Jefferson, some other team will give him the money. He can focus on getting better because the bag is already secured. While there are details to work out, his agent is likely doing most of the negotiating so he can focus on what is happening on the field.
Justin Jefferson has increased his receiving yards every year he has been in the league. The Minnesota Vikings are hoping he can continue this trajectory.
