The Minnesota Vikings have a lot of questions to answer this offseason when it comes to keeping or letting go of some of their star players. Quarterback Kirk Cousins still hasn’t received a contract offer that he can agree on, which will likely lead to him testing free agency to see what other teams will offer him. Star receiver Justin Jefferson has also been rumored to have an interest in being traded to another team, and now Minnesota has revealed what they plan to do with the star receiver.
Minnesota Vikings Reveal Justin Jefferson Decision
Vikings general manager Kwesi Adofo-Mensah revealed on Tuesday that the idea of trading Jefferson has not ever crossed his mind, and he will be a Viking for the foreseeable future. Jefferson was eligible for a new deal last offseason. Still, the two sides were unable to agree on a new deal before the start of the 2023 season despite long negotiation discussions.

Contract Negotiations
The star receiver remains under contract for one more season under the fifth-year option, and both sides seem like they are open to a new deal in the near future, one that will likely make Jefferson one of the highest-paid players in the league. Here is what the star receiver had to say about the contract talks with the Vikings:
Jefferson Knows His Worth
I’m definitely aware of what I’ve been doing for the organization, what I’ve done ever since I’ve stepped foot on this NFL field. So I’m definitely going to do what’s right by getting the amount that I feel like I’m valued. I definitely will keep in mind the different stats and where I am as a player and as a receiver.
So I’m definitely going to let the agent and all of that do all of the different negotiations and the different numbers. But I definitely would like and hope to be one of the highest-paid players and especially receivers.
Do you think Jefferson is asking for too much, or is he entitled to how much he is asking for?
