The Michigan Wolverines have been elite in the trenches over the past five years. They have had one of the best units in the country over the past few years. This is causing recruits to take notice. Top 100 offensive lineman of the 2026 class Tyler Merrill recently said the program is, “one of the biggest lineman factories in college football.”
Michigan Wolverines Offensive Lineman Factory
In a recent interview, top-100 OT recruit Tyler Merrill called #Michigan “one of the biggest lineman factories.” @Kellen__Voss has that and more for today’s Recruiting Roundup:https://t.co/yU7CQg1nSN

Moore is a big reason why the offensive lines have been elite. He has been recruiting many of the top linemen in the country. Now that he is the coach, those linemen are taking notice. Merrill is a four-star offensive lineman out of Pennsylvania. 247 Composite has him as the number one inside offensive lineman in the class. He is ready to visit Michigan again to see what they are building.
“Michigan is arguably one of the biggest lineman factories in college football. They definitely have a big program, perhaps even a dynasty forming. Coach Moore recruited me in the summer last year and I’ve been nothing but excited to get back to Ann Arbor to see what coach Moore is building there at Michigan.”
Dynasty forming. That is what you want recruits to be saying about your program.
Commitment To The Run
Offensive linemen love to play for Moore. Often, these players want to get off the line and hit someone. Michigan gives them an opportunity to do that. Against Penn State last season, Moore called 32 straight run plays in the victory. This wasn’t because they didn’t trust J.J. McCarthy. They were dominating and didn’t want to move away from what was working. With Donovan Edwards back, I would expect 2024 to feature more of the same.
The Michigan Wolverines do not seem to be missing a beat despite the coaching change. If they can compete in the Big Ten after losing Jim Harbaugh, it will say a lot about the job Moore is doing.
