Michigan Wolverines Land DL Jerod Smith
Smith is a 6-foot-3, 265-pound defensive lineman out of Cheshire, Connecticut. He was one of the top recruits in the state. While Michigan has had a lot of success recruiting the offensive side of the ball, this is one of the first defensive commitments in a while. Smith had many other offers and Michigan beat out Alabama, Georgia, Penn State, Wisconsin, and Michigan State. Jim Harbaugh and his staff are proving they can recruit with the premier programs in the country. This is yet another four-star recruit coming to Ann Arbor.
Ohio State Vs. Michigan Is Going To Be Fun
Rival Ohio State is coming off of a big week in recruiting themselves. After nearly a decade of a lopsided rivalry, this matchup is now set up to be one of the most fun in college football for years to come. College football is better when rivalry games like this one actually mean something. The matchup in late November will always have huge implications for the Big Ten and the College Football Playoff. Don’t forget about Penn State and Wisconsin who have also fielded some huge classes for 2024.
The Michigan Wolverines have to be ecstatic about landing Jerod Smith for the 2024 class. They have won because their defense has made big plays in big moments. After losing so many players in the past couple of years, they need some fresh talent to come in. The 2024 class is shaping up to be one of the best ever for the Wolverines and they seem to just be getting started.
