As the sign-stealing investigation continues, another University has spoken about Michigan Wolverines staffer Connor Stalions. He is being accused of sign-stealing from B1G opponents within the last two seasons. As of Tuesday, more news has surfaced surrounding the allegations.
CMU Potentially Spotted Michigan Wolverines Staffer Connor Stalions On Sideline
According to Pete Thamel of ESPN, Central Michigan University has gathered photos about potentially spotting Connor Stalions. It is said to have taken place when this 2023 season began. On September 1, CMU faced the Michigan State Spartans.
This, of course, is the Michigan Wolverines in-state rival. It was reported that Stalions was seen wearing a visiting Central Michigan apparel, along with a “bench media pass,” which is different than a normal credentialed pass. It gives access to that school’s staff and players. This is around the 20-yard line, but no farther. The Michigan Wolverines faced the Spartans in East Lansing on October 21st, winning 49-0.
Stalions Allegations and Status With Michigan
Connor Stalions reportedly bought over 35 tickets to over 17 other games/stadiums nationwide. Last week, a Division III coach admitted being paid to record some Big Ten Games. Stalions was said to have given the former coach over $1,000 for travel expenses and “a couple hundred dollars” to videotape opposing team sidelines using a smartphone.
He was also given a ticket to a Michigan Wolverines game earlier this season. Since October 17th, Connor Stalions has been suspended from the University with pay. The NCAA has been investigating the Michigan Wolverines for over a week.
Jim Harbaugh’s Contract Situation
Early in the week, there were rumblings about the Michigan Wolverines head coach’s contract extension. News released that it was being rescinded on Monday, but Harbaugh said it was “inaccurate.” The Wolverines head coach signed a 5-year $36.7 million dollar deal last season (2022).
Harbaugh was recently told not to sign anything until the current investigation is done. As of Monday morning, the University of Michigan president and athletic director made a decision to move forward with the contract negotiations.
One sent me this: "While UM officials remain concerned about the investigation, long term they believe Harbaugh's overwhelming success at his main missions of winning games and graduating student-athletes has earned him the right to be the highest paid coach in the conference."

This will make Michigan head coach Jim Harbaugh the highest-paid coach in the Big Ten. With the success that he has had recently and in helping with the student-athletes, Harbaugh does deserve the extension. The only thing being held up is that the investigation is far from over!
