Miami Hurricanes football is the fifth program nationally with the top 10 recruiting and transfer class of 2024. The Hurricanes added 72nd overall, 10th-best edge rusher Tyler Baron according to 247sports rankings. The Miami Hurricanes also added Marshall transfer edge rusher Elijah Alston. Miami will have one of the best edge rushing units nationally with returning starters Rueben Bain and Akheem Mesidor at the position.

Miami Hurricanes DE Tyler Baron Statistics

Tyler Baron played for the Tennessee Volunteers last season he is coming off his best collegiate performance. Baron had 28 tackles, 10.5 tackles for loss, six sacks, two passes defended, and a forced fumble. Baron is the fourth-highest-ranked transfer edge rusher in the ACC.

Miami Hurricanes Football Top Transfer Class of 2024

The Hurricanes had 15 transfers in this transfer class this year. Florida State is ranked first in the ACC transfer classes with Marvin Jones Jr., among others. Miami is all about getting back to business this season under Coach Mario Cristobal. This will be Cristobal’s third year with Miami and it has been hard the past few years in Miami. The Canes were 6-2 heading into November last season before sliding to a horrible 1-4 finish. Cristobal and the Hurricanes’ lack of effort is to blame.

Now with this upcoming season, the Canes are the second highest ranked transfer class in the conference. Miami is hoping to be the top ACC team this year and contend for a National Championship.

Miami Hurricanes Football New Players Are Future Stars

Miami not only got players on the defensive side of the ball after losing three key defensive players due to the 2024 NFL Draft. The Canes also landed new quarterback Cam Ward in the transfer portal. Ward has received high praise from the Canes and all-around college football.

The conference seems manageable now for the Hurricanes with Florida State and North Carolina losing star quarterbacks and Clemson no longer a threat. The Canes are number 17 in Dennis Dodd’s post-spring top 25 and that was before Miami acquired Tyler Baron on Tuesday.

Miami Hurricanes Football Season Opener 2024

The Miami Hurricanes open their season against the Florida Gators in Gainsville this year. Canes fans will be excited to see their team dominate this season. This will be the first look at the Canes and this is a highly anticipated game for college football all around. The Canes and Gators are in-state rivals.

The new transfers Tyler Baron and Elijah Alston will put on a show alongside also new transfer quarterback Cam Ward who is electric and talented. Miami will hope to get their season started with a win. This will put the Miami Hurricanes on a confidence booster and give Canes fans something to cheer for this season.
